ABOUT
Reference Dubplates is an independent, high-fidelity lathe-cutting service based in Amsterdam, founded by music producer and artist Matt Gardner (aka Terekke). Having spent years working within the spaces of electronic and ambient music—including releasing works with Amsterdam’s own Music From Memory—Matt established the studio out of a practical appreciation for physical media. What began as a personal fascination with the mechanics of analog audio and studio signal chains has grown into a focused workspace dedicated to helping independent artists and labels bring their projects to life on vinyl. The studio centers on straightforward, careful craftsmanship, catering to short runs, archival releases, and bespoke editions where standard factory pressing isn't practical. Moving away from fragile, traditional acetate blanks, Reference Dubplates cuts onto a durable, specially formulated PVC that offers the weight, longevity, and acoustic performance of standard pressed vinyl. Every disc is cut individually with close attention to how the artist's original mix translates to the physical groove, providing labels and creators with a reliable, beautifully crafted physical manifestation of their sound. Born from a lifelong love of collecting records, our mission is to share that joy by lowering the threshold for physical media creation.
